Various endometrial patterns and abnormalities in women with postmenopausal bleeding

Objective: To study the prevalence of various histopathological changes, patterns and lesions endometrium in women with postmenopausal bleeding. Methodology: All fixed specimens were processed embedded paraffin wax. Multiple serial sections 4-5 microns thickness obtained from block then stained H & E. The observations our analyzed using SPSS software version 11.5. average values are statistically calculated Microsoft Excel computer software. Results: This was a prospective, non interventional observational hospital based cross sectional one year carried out histopathology department on endometrial biopsies hysterectomy specimens. Out 50 cases, bleeding presented at mean age 53.38 years most common within 5 attaining menopause. Among causes bleeding, 16% due to benign conditions, 10% malignancy 74 % cases because organic comprising proliferative, secretory atrophic endometrium. Atrophic among ,endometrial polyp followed by endometrioid carcinoma major finding malignant causes.
